Lothian Volunteer's Victory - Diabetes UK

Marilyn Jackson, a member of Diabetes UK"s UK Advisory Council, has received the Volunteer of the Year award at the first-ever NHS Lothian Celebrating Success event, which took place at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange on 25 June. The award was to recognise someone who "gives freely and willingly of their time to help improve the health and wellbeing of patients, users and their families and carers in NHS Lothian". The Diabetes UK Lothian Diabetes Representative Group, which Marilyn chairs, was also shortlisted in the "Best example of partnership working" category. Marilyn said: "I am delighted to have won this award. I really enjoy the part I play in representing people with diabetes and it is fantastic to have my work recognised by NHS Lothian." Diabetes UK
